The overall standard wa poor : dirty and filthy all over. Rooms very small , barhrooms very small and not clean, wall paper and paint coming off the walls the whole plase needs a serious refurbishment
Service was appalling, staff rude and disinterested. The supposed 4 star rating of this hotel is terribly misleading.
Nothing, we were supposed to stay for three nights but left after the first. We would have left earlier only the hotel wouldn't refund all our money which we thought was wrong considering the hotel completely misrepresented itself on its website.
The bed linen was dirty, the carpet was stained, the wallpaper was peeling, one of the plug sockets was broken and the wires were hanging out. The air conditioning unit had to be dragged to the window in order to work and at that the furniture had to be rearranged in order to actually plug it in. We were shown a suit and it was just as bad, not to mention about eight bulbs were gone and the net curtains were black.
Room size was ok.
Totally overpriced. Extremely poor service. There was no air condition, it was boiling hot in the room and in order to open the window you had to climb across the bed and lift two extremly heavy window frames and fix them with pillows from the bed. given the rates of about 120GBP it was an extremely disappointing experience. I experienced the whole downside of internet booking: You pay the entire price upfront and then you are stuck for four nights albeit desperate to leave after the first night.
I liked its position
My room was on 4th floor no lift- breakfast looked dull so I avoided it. overall not that good, I would not rush to return
An upgrade was offered without extra cost
The public areas were dirty and in desperate need of refurbishments. Towels were skimpy and very worn (had holes in). Basic things missing, such as bath mat, glasses for water, hotel information in room.
The only good thing was the staff being friendly.
To be honest it was one of the worst experiences in my life. The hotel has no lifts and the rooms are very dirty and I was really scared to sleep on the bed even though the bed linen was not dirty just after I saw everything else being so dirty I did not know what to expect. Moreover, showers, toilets and basins were very dirty!!! Showers were scaled with pieces of real dirt being covered behind the shower screen. Moreover, there was someone else's hair on my towel! In short it was gross!
The hotel was in an excellent, safe and quiet location however it has seen better days. Carpets, decor and curtains all quite shabby and it could do with a major refurbishment. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Carpets were especially dingy and though the bathroom was clean it had seen much better days. Also an enormous ornate chandelier was hanging right over the bed which was slightly daunting!
Location Easy to find and lots to do within easy reach Friendly receptionist
Room was too warm with no way of cooling it down - no air con or fans View from window was of bins in basement There was a kettle and cup in the room but no coffee/tea There was also an empty fridge - no mini bar No iron in room (almost wouldn't fit anyway) Large wardrobe (taking lots of space) but no clothes hangers Breakfast at 8.30. Too late for most business people Insects in bathroom
I was astounded at the size of the room, tiny! For £120 a night in a local hotel, I exPected tons more. Didn't serve breakfast til 8.30 which is ridiculous for anyone needing to go to work. Rooms outdated. Overall, awful.
Very poor hotel it is a 3star posin as a 4 star - wifi does not work and cost £10 dont buy it
Fantastic size of room, wide screen tv
They made me pay again, there were no towels in the room, broken fittings, poor security on windows (a burglar could have easily walked in), no tea/coffee in the room even though there was a kettle, lights stopped working
The location of the hotel.
There were a few thinsg i didn't like - We were on the top level and had to walk steep stair to get to our room, the buffet breakfast was pretty ordinary, there was no-one to help us with our lugage when we checked out [considering that we were on the top level and there are no lifts this was pretty hard for two girls], the shower was pretty small and hard to operate.
Leaving as early as I could get away...
1. There is no lift in the hotel - my room was on the top floor (about 6 flights of narrow stairs) 2. The lights were fused and not working - and the electrics were potentially unsafe - use of 2-pin bedside lamp and bare wires behind the mirror in the bathroom
The location was good.
It was all a bit dingy. The curtain was coming off the track, we had to send down twice to get proper towels - they only supplied handtowels. When bathtowels finally arrived, one had a huge hole in it. There was a kettle and 2 cups - but no coffee or tea bags! When we asked for tea bags, we were told the kettle was a facility but they didn't supply anything to put in it. The basin was smaller than a bird bath. The shower was poor. It was anything but opulent!
