Best point was the bedding was clean !

We had to struggle up 7 flights of stairs with all our luggage which didn't do much for my heart condition, there was bearly room to get around the bed. The room was so hot you had to have the windows open all night and the put up with banging water pipes the constant drone of cars speeding down the one way street outside, and opposite were some offices that were fully lit up all night.

A tired hotel that is not worth it's supposed four stars.

Nothing! You don't want to know how breakfast looks like!!! This is a four star hotel only in Pakistan!

Everything, horable, unbelivable, you should come to Oppulance and than you will find a two star hotel in Johannesburg as a Hilton!

Nothing stood out as particularly good about this hotel.

Very overpriced!! £199 for one night. Room was described as a suite but was just a room. Also it was ground floor front of the building and therefore very noisy at night. Breakfast wasn't good either! And the "Chic" Seven Seas restuarant was just a tiny room in the basement filed with old restuarant furniture! Had the room cost £80 say, I would complain at all as the facilities and service would have been about right. But for £199 per night?? Not happy!!

      Short walk to Oxford Street.

The smallest room I have ever stayed in. Their web-site incorrectly describes this as a "luxury" hotel. Maybe it was, in the 1940's, not been renewed since? A bit dissapointed as I expected more.

The hotel was within easy walking distance from Marylebone Station, where we travel to London. It is near a bus stop with buses from the West End or Knightsbridge, and only a short walk to Baker St, where the buses go in the other direction. Near Baker St station as well. The room was clean & comfortable and quite "opulently" decorated, with good storage spaces. The reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, as was the waiter in the breakfast room. Would happily stay here again.

One drawback was the lack of lift, and our room was on the 2nd floor, but the receptionist offered to help carry our luggage up and downstairs for us, so this wasn't a major problem. He also willingly provided tea bags on request, as altough there were a kettle and mugs in our room , there was no coffeee or tea. Breakfast was basic, but adequate. Our room was at the front of the building, and traffic on Gloucester Place ( a one-way main thoroughfare) was noisy. In future we would request a quieter back room.

Rooms weren't very clean. I found someone else's dirty clothes under the bed, along with lots of dust. The blinds for the window were broken. Breakfast didn't start until 830 even though in the hotel info it stated that it started at 730 M-F. There wasn't much selection for breakfast.

Absolutely nothing. Although I suppose I could say that the bed was quite comfortable.

This hotel is atrocious. How you can give it a 4 star rating I will never know. I booked 2 twin bedded rooms but when we arrived we were told they only had 1 twin bedded room left, so my friends 2 daughters had to share a double bed. Our twin bedded room was small and in the basement, the curtains were hanging off the rails so we could not close them properly, the bed covers and long pillows to match were frayed and needed cleaning. We had a kettle & mugs but no tea, coffee or milk. There was no bath mat, the towels were clean but old. There was 1 bath robe on the back of the door, this was a twin bedded room!! No tissues. The hot water was boiling hot but you could hardly get any cold. I managed to have a shower but when my friend tried she could get no cold water at all and had to go without. This is supposed to be 4 star. The carpets on the stairs were dirty. The entrance mat was frayed & old. Breakfast!! Abysmal. Bread still in the plastic bags, the toaster didn't work and needed cleaning. The cereal spoons were tablespoons. We found coffee but no tea. We asked for scrambled eggs, they came on a plate with no accompaniment & looked like rubber. By now we had had enough. Needless to say we left the breakfast and left. Do not stay at this place. How they can call it opulence I shall never know. We should have demanded a refund but no-one seemed to understand us anyway and send we should contact Booked.net. The Olympics are here in a few weeks. What on earth will visitors think of the quality of our hotels if they stay here. I wished I knew how to do something about it. This hotel would not rate 1 star in a third world country.

Excellent and fiendly staff....and that's it

Room is too small although I booked a double room. Room furnature is not as luxurious as the photos imply. Bathroom is too small to even move inside it. Bed is not comfortable. I do not recommend it at all.

      Location, staff.

This is at best a 2 1/2 star bed and breakfast. No lift, no room service. Breakfast only starts at 8:30 (!!) - so despite it was included I wasn't able to have it. Corridors are extremely noisy. No air conditioning, no mini bar, there was a kettle in my room, but no tea or coffee. I had my own tea, but the cleaning staff was not bothered to clean my cup when they "made up" the room... Rooms are also very small, at least my single was really tiny, and another double I saw was not very spacious either. Staff was very, very friendly, but hey - they must read their reviews, so they are trying real hard... It'spointless though as long as the place are holding themselves out as a 4* "boutique hotel" (which is s koke) andthey create expectations that are absolutely impossible, even remotely, to match.

Hotel was conveniently located. Staff was very nice. Common areas very nice. Room was very clean.

Just the little things that weren't right. The hair dryer was missing from the room. When I called, one was brought up immediately. The safe was locked shut, so couldn't use it. My hand towels were actually bath matts.

      Good location....that's all.

Not a 4 star hotel !!!!! 98 steps from top floor to basement/breakfast room. General decorative state very poor. Kettle and cups but no tea/coffee etc. Out of 7 light bulbs only 2 worked although was quick to respond when requested re-placements. Bath/shower mats given as hand towels!! Pleased only stayed the 1 night although feel very dissapointed as expected much more for the £90 per night paid wish I had researched further and chose another hotel.

    • Couple
      4.2

Good location and interesting/quirky decor. Friendly staff.

Room was very small and very hot (no air con and small portable fan not very effective). Rooms are located up several floors of an old town house. No lift. Meant quite a trek up and down the stairs. Breakfast was disappointing. The very friendly chef made eggs of your choice which was nice but the rest of the selection (buffet of cold salamis, two cereals, pots of activia, banana/orange and diy toast from a bag of sliced hovis) let it down. Everyone seemed to burn their toast (me included) so the small basement room was a bit oppressive to eat in.
